What are your operating hours?

Dirt Farm is open from 10am- 6pm every day except on Monday and Tuesday. We also run an evening uplift on a Wednesday and Thursday evening from 4pm – 8pm. Unfortunately due to planning restrictions riders are not permitted on the tracks outside of these hours. Winter opening days do vary so please check our booking calendar.

Is car parking available?

Parking is available however spaces are limited so we encourage car sharing.

Are the trails suitable for beginners?

The blues are suitable for intermediate MTB riders. Our red trails are aimed at more experienced intermediate rider. Our expert trails are aimed at advanced riders and our Pro line is aimed at pro riders or equivalent level riders.

Can U18’s ride unaccompanied at the centre?

U18’s are welcome at Dirt Farm but we do ask that a parent/guardian remains on site at all times. They must also ensure that they sign a waiver.

Can I push and ride?

Yes, we are open for push and ride every day except Monday and Tuesdays. You MUST book online and sign a waiver be signed before arrival.

 

How long is the push up?

The push up is approximately 15/20 minutes depending on fitness.

Can I pay for individual uplift tickets?

Individual uplift tickets are currently available to purchase if there are empty spaces on the trailers.

Do uplifts run everyday?

Uplifts run every day over the weekend. Uplifts also run during the week depending on the time of year. Please check our booking calendar to see if an uplift is running.

 

Can I request an uplift on a specific day?

During the winter months we are happy to open up an uplift day however we do require a minimum of 6 people in order to run. Contact us directly if you would like to request a specific day.

How do I cancel / change a booking?

We ask for at least 48hrs notice. Bookings may be put on hold for 12 months.

I am injured, can I move my booking?

Yes contact us and we are happy to put your booking on hold and move your booking to an alternate date.

The weather is bad, can I cancel my booking?

If the weather is severe, we will happily move your booking. Sometimes we will make the call to close the centre if the weather is deemed too dangerous to ride. In this case you will be offered to move your booking to an alternate date or a full refund.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, refunds are available however there is a £7 charge per person to cover admin and booking fees. Refunds will go back onto the card that was used to make the purchase.

Do I have to wear a full faced helmet?

We recommend that all riders wear a full face helmet.

What tyres should I use?

We would recommend a hard pack tyre rain or shine. Maxxis minions 3cx are very good.

What tyre pressure should I use?

We recommend the air pressure in your tyres are harder than normal.

How hard should my suspension be?

We recommend that your suspension is not set too fast

Is there a bike shop onsite?

Gateway Cycles from Abergavenny have a pop up on site which will sell spares and offer a repair service.

Do you hire bikes?

Bike hire is available from Gateway Cycles – Abergavenny.

Is there food onsite?

We sell hot drinks and snacks onsite. On weekends and bank holidays Farmer Mark Eats provides hot food. During the week we recommended that you bring your own packed lunch or stop at the local garage in the village which sells food and drinks.

Can I camp onsite?

Unfortunately we do not have camping facilities, however there are a few local campsites very close to the centre. We also recommend The Lake Side loft which is located in Abbeydore. Pond and Beyond (pondandbeyondglamping.co.uk)

Can I take photos?

Yes, photos are allowed but we ask everyone who is taking photos to ensure that they position themselves in a safe place that does not impede their own safety or that of the riders. All professional photographers must contact us directly before planning a visit to Dirt Farm as we require your insurance details and you will need our authorisation to be on site.

Can I fly a drone?

Permission must be given before flying a drone at Dirt Farm. Please contact us directly to discuss this. We also require all pilots to have their own insurance.

Can I wash my bike?

Yes, we have a bike wash area with a hose.

Do you recommend any local accommodation?

We recommend ‘The Lake Side Loft’ which is located in Abbeydore.
